KORZENIOWSKI, MLS DRAFTEE, RETURNS TO REAL CENTRAL NJ FOR 2024 USL2 SEASON

Updated: May 17

(Central Jersey) - Stas Korzenioski will be joining Real Central NJ Soccer once again for the 2024 season, after helping win the USL League Two Championship last year with Ballard FC.

Korzenioski has had a whirlwind college soccer career. After getting 16 appearances with only one start as a freshmen for the University of Pennsylvania, the Pennington High School alumnus joined Real Central NJ Soccer in the summer of 2022. The attacker earned many USL League Two accolades. USL2 is the highest amateur soccer league in the country.

The Skillman native led RCNJ and the Mid-Atlantic division in scoring with 8 goals, including scoring the fastest hat trick in league history. Having also tied the division lead in assists with 5, he was named the team’s 2022 MVP and made the league's 50 players to watch list.

“Making the playoffs comes first, and Stas will help us get there,” said RCNJ men’s head coach Brian Woods. “Having him back in the locker room will be good for us as a team.”

His time playing with RCNJ prepared him to jump into his sophomore season as a Quaker. Korzenioski started 18 matches, scored 11 goals, and assisted 7 times as Penn won the Ivy League title. His performance earned recognitions including Second-team All-American, First-team All-Region, Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year, and First-team All-Ivy.

In 2023 he played for Ballard FC in Seattle. The tall forward scored the opening goal in the club’s 2-1 win to hoist the USL League Two Championship Trophy.

FASTEST HATTRICK IN USL2 HISTORY (May 2022)

In December, Korzenowski was chosen by the Philadelphia Union in the second round of the MLS SuperDraft, being the first Real Central NJ player drafted in the club's short history.

Korzenioski's return will bolster an RCNJ team that is being built to make a bid for the Mid-Atlantic title. Over the coming weeks, the club will be announcing addition returning and new players.

The season kicks off in May for Real Central NJ Soccer's USL League Two and Women’s Premier Soccer League teams. For tickets see the club’s website at https://www.realcentralnj.soccer/tickets-and-membership.
